Getting Fit For Life
|
Hey all! The idea behind this community is a really great one. I always appreciate having people to bounce health ideas off of, and of course I will do the same for everyone else here :) I have big goals for myself this summer. I plan to eat better, start exercising more - period, and "tone" myself as best as I can.
I'll be a Senior in college this coming fall. The past three years I've noticed I've started some bad habits. Eating too much, eating the wrong things, hardly being active. As a consequence I tend to build up stress while staying lazy. I decided it's time to change, because if I don't do it now, I'll always let it slide when I'm too busy.
One of my big annoyances is that when I gain just a few pounds I go up a pant size. This is a costly indicator that I'm out of shape, because I have to buy new clothes only to have my weight fluctuate back down again later. I'm not so much a weight checker - for me it's about how I feel and look, and lately I definitely have a bit more flub hanging around my midsection. With my build I figure I'm just on the borderline of my pant size. I'm not trying to get stick thin, but to a point where I'm back to a size normal for my body type.
Also, I'd really like to get some stomach and arm muscles growing. I've NEVER been able to do pull ups and struggle to do ONE sit up. I feel so weak :P Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! |
